Hello all!  This post is a review of the Slice N Easy Cake Cutter by Mrs. Field’s.  It is manufactured by the Love Cooking Company, LLC and you can view their website here.  It is patent pending and we were lucky enough to receive one for free to test it for review.  To try this cutter out, I baked a chocolate cake with chocolate icing to take to school and used the cake cutter to serve the pieces.  At first, it was trial and error; you have to find the perfect combination of squeeze pressure and lift speed.  But after a couple of tries, it worked like a charm!  Below are my main observations and opinions of the Slice N Easy Cake Cutter.

Operation

This product is perfect for Moms with young kids or people who throw lots of celebration events.  The operation is very simple.  First, you grasp it in the back and push down on the cake, slicing down the cake all the way to the bottom.   Then, you squeeze, while pulling the piece of cake up at the same time.  Keep squeezing until you can lay the piece down on the plate gently.

Perfect edges, size and shape.  No crumbs falling everywhere.  Minimal icing-stickage to the cutter.  I used a Dream Whip packet in my cake batter, so the cake was very light and fluffy; the piece did not come apart or crack with this utensil! A huge benefit that I love is that it saves you from having to wash multiple utensils, such as a knife, server and possibly large fork.  This utensil acts as everything in one.

In my home, I need to pare down my kitchen utensil collection for storage room.  With this utensil, I was able to get rid of some of my dull knives (that can’t be sharpened) and 1970’s cake servers (I think one might have been in a wedding?!).  This cake cutter was a very welcome addition to my kitchen collection!

Look

The utensil is white plastic, with a thin, narrow edge that acts as a sharp “knife” edge for cutting.  It is white, which is a great choice for neutral kitchens, but I would like to see some brighter colors offered as well.  It is of medium size and fit in my standard size kitchen drawer.

Feel

The cutter is made of thin plastic, with semi-sharp plastic edges for cutting.  It cuts as well as a knife, without the serrated edges.  It is very user-friendly, but grasping and lifting at the same time does take some getting used to, as there is a slippery feel to the plastic.  It is also dishwasher safe, which is a plus!

Overall, I adore this utensil and will make use of it at every birthday party we have!  And probably some of my family member’s too. :)

Let us know what you think!  Would you try out the Slice N Easy Cake Cutter?

Have a blessed day,

Louisa
